It can be easy to feel restless and distracted in the best of times, let alone when it feels like everything is changing and anxiety is settling onto every daily activity. Locations have been moved, adjustments have been made, and suddenly everything is remote/online. Restrictions are in place and self-isolating has hit. So how does one remain calm and productive in the face of a pandemic, and shake those nasty feelings of restlessness and distraction?

  1. Check out the university’s brilliant ‘A to Z Wellbeing’ page. This contains a variety of resources for keeping calm, distracting yourself from worries in a nice way, and staying on track. Also have a look at the Saint Sports fitness videos on YouTube!
  2. Take some time to stop, and breathe. Stop scrolling through the news or social media for a minute. Stop worrying about adjustments and deadlines for a moment. Just take some time to breathe, pick up an activity you enjoy (such as reading or something crafty), and forget about the outside world for a while.
  3. Read some useful articles about wellbeing and productivity such as this onethis one, or this one!

That’s just a top-level highlight of some of the resources appearing daily to combat issues of productivity, wellbeing, and newfound worries of failing in the face of the current global situation. Stay safe, stay healthy, and do what you have to do to make your new normal!
